What book formats does Murmur support?
Murmur reads EPUB files today - the most common open ebook format. Import them from Files, Mail, or any app that can share a file. PDF and MOBI support are on the roadmap. For now, convert other formats to EPUB before importing.
Does Murmur work offline?
Murmur works completely offline. Your books, the voices, and the text-to-speech engine all live on your device, so you can import and listen on a plane, a subway, or anywhere with no signal. Nothing requires an internet connection.
How do the voices work?
Murmur uses on-device neural text-to-speech, so every voice runs locally on your iPhone. The audio is generated right on the device, which keeps your reading private and lets playback start instantly without streaming.
