What book formats does Murmur support?

Murmur reads EPUB and PDF files - the two formats most books arrive in. Import them from Files or iCloud Drive. MOBI support is on the roadmap, so for now convert other formats to EPUB before importing.

Does Murmur work offline?

Murmur works completely offline. Your books, the voices, and the text-to-speech engine all live on your device, so you can import and listen on a plane, a subway, or anywhere with no signal. Nothing requires an internet connection.

How do the voices work?

Murmur uses on-device neural text-to-speech, so every voice runs locally on your iPhone. The audio is generated right on the device, which keeps your reading private and lets playback start instantly without streaming.

What is free and what is premium?

Murmur is free to use with unlimited EPUB imports, 60 minutes of listening each month, and one English plus one Polish on-device voice. Premium unlocks unlimited listening and every voice and language, billed weekly at $9.99, monthly at $24.99, or yearly at $59.99 (the best value). There is no free trial and no intro offer - you start on the free tier from day one.

What data does Murmur collect?

Murmur collects nothing about what you read or listen to. Your books stay on your device, there is no account to create, and there is no reading history sent anywhere. Optional anonymous analytics help improve the app and never identify you.
