Smile to Unlock Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Smile to Unlock, an iOS app from Read · Build · Ship. By using Smile to Unlock, you agree to them.

The app

Smile to Unlock lets you place a lock over apps you choose, using Apple’s Screen Time (Family Controls) framework, and unlock them with a smile detected on your device. It is provided as-is. Smile to Unlock is a gentle habit tool for yourself, not a security product or a parental control - it always leaves you a way to unlock, and removing the app removes the locks.

Your data

Your smile photos, unlock history, streaks, and settings are yours and stay on your device. We do not claim any rights to them and we do not access them.

Subscriptions

Smile to Unlock is free to use with the limits described in the app. Premium is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple ID, available weekly, monthly, or yearly. You can manage or cancel it anytime in your App Store settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies.

Acceptable use

Use Smile to Unlock only on your own device and your own apps. Do not attempt to use it to restrict another person’s device without their knowledge and consent.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
